Training & Placement Cell is provided with all the facilities to enable deserving students of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology to get competitive placements. The Training & Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews.

This department prepares the students for the process of recruitment and simultaneously creates awareness among companies about the recruitment opportunities at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology.

At present, the competition for employment is increasing every day and placement has become a challenging task. Training students and equipping them with life skills has become an important responsibility of the institution. Along with technical expertise, the development of a holistic personality is also necessary. To meet these requirements, a fully-fledged training cell is operating in our college to enhance the capabilities of engineering graduates at par with the industry standards.

The Training & Placement Office of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology does a thorough market research and closely monitors the student training needs. The key functions of the Office are as enumerated below:

  • Relationship Management with the companies already recruiting from the College
  • Prospecting new companies for Placements & Internships.
  • Understanding training need and accordingly arranging summer/winter trainings in various Industries, FSPs, Seminars/Webinars etc.
  • Actively participating in various Industry Associations and Forums to gain insights, initiate collaborations to create internship opportunities & MoUs etc.
  • Interacting with the students and build exposure on Industry expectation for better employability.

Campus Recruitment:

Campus recruitment is a strategy for sourcing, engaging and hiring young talents for the internship and entry level positions.

When the recruiter visits the campus for hiring needs they end up having a vast pool of applicants due to the availability of the students and their eagerness to be picked among peers.

This helps in having a diverse and vast number of potential candidates to choose from. Not all students are the same and the choice a company has in of talent is vast. They can even choose students who are extremely talented for future reference when they have an opening matching their skills.

Organizations which conduct campus interviews and further hiring in a particular college or educational

institution they end up establishing a strong relationship with the concerned college and also its students. This helps in increase in the number of students applying for summer Internships and training and projects, etc. So campus recruitment also helps in building a strong pipeline for next year’s recruits as well.

Training for enhanced conversion during Campus Recruitment:

Professionally qualified personnel are actively involved in delivering up-to-date training curricula to enable our students to face the competition with greater degree of confidence & conviction. Thus, it would promote better selection by recruiters visiting our institute.

  • Aptitude Training: These classes refresh the fundamental areas of mathematics and logic of the students and cover areas like – Quantitative ability, Logical reasoning, Puzzles and Verbal ability.
  • Personality Development Classes: These classes are conducted in parallel with the aptitude sessions and provide rigorous training in the soft skills area.
  • Technical Training Sessions: As a part of our training efforts, we conduct surveys from time to time among corporate to understand the technological up gradations taking place. We figure out the most appropriate technologies and provide the required training based on these inputs.
  • Training on Coding & Pseducoding: Practical training on coding and pseducoding are also given to the students which nurtures the analytical and logical skills of a student.
  • Pre placement training programs such as mock group discussions, mock interviews are conducted by our faculties & industry professionals at college itself.
  • Company specific training is also conducted for better employability quotient.

Preparation for Competitive exams enhances the skill of understanding the application of concepts, which is required when students appear exams like GATE, GRE, IELTS. Guru Nanak Institute of Technology arranges competitive examinations every year for the benefit of students of 3rd and 4th year throughout the semester. It helps students in logical and analytical thinking and in building a strong foundation for a career. The classes for GATE exams are conducted from 2nd year to final year from department as well as institute level. Special sessions are conducted by the counselors and experts from the field for motivating the students for appearing the competitive examinations.
