Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), Kolkata has received a grant from AICTE to launch an AICTE-IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation, and Application) Lab. The vision of the lab is to establish the Centre of Excellence in Rapid Prototyping and nurturing critical thinking, problem-solving skills among students. This initiative aims to create a dynamic environment that promotes design thinking and prototype-driven learning aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The AICTE-supported IDEA Labs will be equipped with a diverse array of modern tools and technologies, including 3D printers, scanners, laser cutters, CNC routers, and IoT devices. These facilities are designed to equip students and faculty to develop innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of society and industry.
AICTE IDEA Lab will extend towards the creation of a robust, self-sustaining platform that supports start-ups and entrepreneurial eco-system. This innovation ecosystem will empower students and faculty to transform ideas into viable solutions, addressing real-world challenges.
